CEA Officers and Committees

CEA Officers

The current CEA Officers are:

President, Leah C. Neubauer, MA
Treasurer, Judah Viola, PhD
Secretary, Jonathan Margolin, PhD

If you are interesting in becoming a CEA officer, please contact Leah Neubauer (lneubaue@depaul.edu). Officers are elected for two years of service. Terms for President and Treasurer will expire at the end of 2011. The term for Secretary expires at the end of 2010.

CEA Committees

CEA has four standing committees: Professional Development, Social Networking, Strategic Planning and Website.  Each committee has one chair or two co-chairs, one member of the Executive Committee (EC), and the number of additional members varies according to the membership interest and the committee’s needs.  Chairs can appoint new members of committees with executive committee approval. 

Professional Development

This committee organizes multiple professional development events for CEA each year.  In the past they have polled the membership to provide the types of events that members are looking for.  The PD committee has hosted special expert guest lectures (e.g., Jennifer Greene, Bob Stake, Thomas Cook, Michael Quinn Patton, Mel Mark) roundtable discussions (topics such as innovative ways to present data to clients, challenges in qualitative methods), membership poster presentation sessions, and American Journal of Evaluation club meetings.

Social Networking

This committee organizes multiple social networking events for CEA each year.  In the past several years they have hosted an annual Jazzin at the Shedd networking night, outings to plays, happy hours, and wine and cheese gatherings.

Strategic Planning Committee

This is a new committee in 2010 that will over the next several years help set a course for the growth and development of CEA.  They will help to set achievable goals and benchmarks to achieve them.  They will inform the work of the executive committee.

Website

This committee is responsible for the development and maintenance of the CEA website.
